The time has finally come for Joost to open its doors, well, kind of. The video sharing service is still in the Beta stage, but they have made the effort to launch their service and give all current users unlimited invites. So you still have to pester your cousin’s aunt’s nephew’s uncle to send you one of the invites!

Three more invites for Joost…

We love giving things away, even if it’s a free invite for Joost! I know there are lots of people who are wanting to get in on the Joost beta, which is why we give away our invites as we get them. Unfortunately it’s only been 8 so far. Luckily Kassad, one of our readers, has offered his three invites to other CyberNet readers.

Is Comcast Blocking Joost Already?

It was just a couple of weeks ago that MetaMan sent us a tip saying that Comcast customers in the US were receiving warnings that they needed to cut back on their excessive bandwidth use, otherwise they would face termination (sounds like the Verizon ordeal, doesn’t it?). Some customers have already gotten cut off which is frustrating to say the least.

You’ve probably heard of Joost by now. It was started by the brains behind both Kazaa and Skype, and it seems to have exploded into popularity out of nowhere, particularly after Viacom turned on YouTube and greeted Joost with open arms. Joost is the newest way to distribute TV shows and video using interactive software.

Viacom Turns on YouTube, now Greets Joost with Open Arms

When Viacom pulled out the carpet underneath YouTube, I’m sure YouTube wasn’t expecting it was because there was someone else coming into the picture. Viacom left, and headed on over to Joost which is just getting their start.
