I've been playing around with one of the leaked Windows 8 builds (7955), which out-of-the-box doesn't feel all that different from Windows 7. You've likely seen some interesting stuff floating around the Internet about Windows 8 though, which is because most of the screenshots are from hidden features that people have managed to uncover.

Over the weekend I decided to download Windows 7 Build 7264, which is the latest build to have been leaked. This was considered to be an RTM escrow build, which meant that this would have been the version that gets shipped given that Microsoft didn't find any show-stopper bugs.
Last week we saw a revamped version of Paint in the third Windows 7 milestone. At the time there weren't any other screenshots available, but it looks as though someone who got their hands on Windows 7 M3 has decided to post some screenshots showing off more of the enhancements.
Gizmodo received a tip a few days back that pointed to updated pricing for the Xbox 360. It appears that a $50 price drop down to $299 is on the way, and might be coming as soon as this Sunday. Accompanying the price drop signs is a memo stating that the enclosed materials are not to be displayed before July 13th... I guess Internet leaks are okay as long as no one physically puts out the signs.
I was quite surprised today when I saw an email in my Inbox letting me know that Adobe Photoshop CS4 (codename Stonehenge 11.0) has been leaked. I checked some of the BitTorrent sites and it does indeed look like it is available to anyone that wishes to download it.

It's that time again! Yep, time for more Microsoft leaks. This time around a "hack" has been exposed that will let existing Windows XP users download and install a Release Candidate of Service Pack 3 (SP3) via Windows Update. MediaDefender is a popular company who's goal is to thwart illegal file, music, and movie sharing. Their 60 employees and 2,000 servers are used to post fake files (that appear to be real) on the file sharing networks, and they can load corrupt data into the files being downloaded on the Kazaa network.
Last month we reported that the Nero 8 download would be available to buyers on October 1st, but pirates can get it starting today! As with many high-profile applications this one has been leaked to the file sharing networks a full 3-weeks before the consumer release was scheduled. Microsoft has taken the lid off of Vista SP1 (Service Pack 1) by releasing a detailed report of what to expect when it is released. This announcement comes the same day that Microsoft pushed out two of the most important updates since Vista’s release, both of which make significant improvements to the usability of Vista.
Isn’t it great when sites like Amazon are given information regarding a product, and they publish the details right away. I think Amazon is known for leaking pricing and release dates of items, and they’re at it again with the HP MediaSmart Home Server.
