Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Delayed until at least October

Just today, Google has released Google Desktop for Mac in beta. It will index applications, PDF’s, files supported by Spotlight’s plug-ins, and the history to your web browser which then makes it possible to search.
Office 2008 for Macs is now in the private testing phase, and unfortunately it is still not known whether or not Microsoft will offer a public beta in the future. The plan as it stands, is that the Mac version will be released in the 2nd half of 2007 which would make it the newest addition since 2004.
All sites that mention Apple’s next big operating system release, called Leopard, say that the release will be late April or early May. DigiTimes is going against what the rest of the Internet is speculating by saying that the release date will be in October of 2007.
According to Symantec’s annual Internet Security Report, Windows is not only doing well in terms of security, it’s actually doing better than competitors when it comes to the most widely-used operating systems.
According to TUAW.com, they’re saying that the latest numbers suggest that there are around 9,000 new people per day that switch to a Mac. The numbers come from Tom Yager over at InfoWorld who based his calculations upon Steve Jobs’ claim that half of Macs are sold to first-time buyers.
