CyberNotes: Remove Broken and Duplicate Bookmarks

I'm not sure about you, but I have a collection of bookmarks that is almost unmanageable. Some of the bookmarks I probably haven't touched for years, and I thought it was time for a little spring winter cleaning!

Firefox 2.0.0.11: Two Releases in One Week?

Mozilla pushed out Firefox 2.0.0.10 on Tuesday which fixed three highly rated security vulnerabilities, but a rather critical bug slipped through their test routines. The issue lies in the which is used by some extensions and websites to display images. An example of this can be seen here where a line graph is supposed to appear on the left side using the source image as the background.

Sunbird 0.7 is Impressive

For some reason I'm really impressed at how fast Mozilla's Calendar duo is progressing. They just pushed Lightning & Sunbird 0.7 out the door, and they include a completely redesigned event interface along with hundreds of bug fixes. You can see what the new event manager looks like above, and it is much less cluttered than the older version.

CyberNotes: Share a Firefox Profile Between Ubuntu and Windows

One of the new things in Ubuntu 7.10 is the ability to read and write to NTFS formatted drives, which is great for Windows XP and Vista users. What that means is that you can create a Firefox profile in Windows and set it up so that Ubuntu uses the exact same profile.

New WebRunner Browser by Mozilla

I've been wanting a slim browser for quite some time, and Mozilla's new WebRunner browser is definitely just that. Mozilla cutout all of the frills to give people a one site at a time browsing experience that doesn't even have an Address Bar, bookmarks, forward/back operations, or many other things that you have become accustomed to a browser having.

Firefox 3 Places Gets "Smart Folders"

Mozilla has been working hard to get Places into Firefox 3, and they are making some good progress. Back in September we saw a nice mockup of what to expect from the Places Organizer, and about a week after that Oropher pointed out in our forum that the first major UI change occurred.

CyberNotes: Must-Have Firefox Tab Manager

It's not often that I come across a Firefox extension that does so much that it actually warrants its own CyberNotes article, but Tab Kit is one of those extensions. The only thing is that the extension is so new that it's still in the Mozilla Sandbox, and therefore requires an extra step or two to actually get it installed.

Two Main Thunderbird Developers Leave Mozilla

It's been an extremely sad week for Mozilla's Thunderbird email client. We've seen the only two full-time developers announce that they will be leaving the organization at the end of this week. News of this started when Scott MacGregor, the lead Thunderbird engineer, said that October 12th will be his last day as an employee. David Bienvenu then followed up Scott's announcement with his own.

CyberNotes: Top 10 Firefox Extensions, and More

We always get a lot of positive feedback on the "best of" or "top 10" Firefox lists that we put together, but we're far from the only site doing that. So today I thought I would focus on making an a semi-comprehensive guide for the lists that are available on the web.
