It seems like the rumors of a Google Phone have been going around and around the web for years now. Really, it's only been about a year and up until recently, I wasn't convinced that Google even had a Phone in mind.
During the month of July, Apple's iPhone accounted for 1.8% of the mobile handset sales. While this number may not seem like much, it's quite an accomplishment for Apple, particularly because it's their first time entering the mobile phone industry. This information came from a recent survey conducted by ISuppli who also revealed that the iPhone outsold Smartphones for the month, another impressive accomplishment.
According to a Reuters article published yesterday, Microsoft may be interested in purchasing BlackBerry maker RIM. While we know that Microsoft has an interest in the mobile market because of Windows Mobile, many people, including myself, never expected they’d immerse themselves this much into the Smartphone industry.

It looks like Microsoft sees the value in widgets much like those introduced with the iPhone. Just today, Microsoft announced their backing of a company called ZenZui who is looking to change the way you navigate the web on your mobile device with their “zooming” mobile browser.
