StylePix: Advanced Image Editor for Windows

There are plenty of image editors out there these days, but there aren't too many that offer some of the advanced functionality that you find in Photoshop. Some of those apps, such as GIMP or Paint.NET, are great alternatives that a lot of users have come to rely on, and I'd have to put StylePix in that same category.

Adobe has presented hackers with yet another challenge thanks to their new breed of Creative Suite 4 (CS4) applications that were released less than two weeks ago. They try do everything they can to stop software pirates from stealing their programs, but it's inevitable that someone somewhere will find a workaround.

About a month ago Adobe released some of the first Beta apps from their Creative Suite 4 product line, and that included Dreamweaver CS4. The one app that was disappointingly missing was Photoshop CS4, which has left a lot of people wondering what's going on with it.

Thanks to Max, we received an invite to try out Aviary. It's a suite of web-based applications for "people who create." When I say a suite of applications, I mean it.  In all, they offer (well, eventually they'll offer) 18 different applications that each have their own purpose and function.

Online Photoshop Express Image Editor

Adobe announced back in March that they intended to create an online Photoshop that is geared towards home and casual computer users. The solution that they came up with, called Photoshop Express, will offer a simplistic interface that is free for everyone to use. However, it will be ad supported (I'm guessing that's what the box in the bottom-right corner of the screenshot is for).

Adobe officially announced this morning that they have released Adobe CS3 in two flavors: Design and Web editions. In two days it will be exactly two years since Adobe acquired Macromedia, and now we finally have a whole new line of software. All of the products have rightfully been renamed to “Adobe” leaving the Macromedia name in the past.

Adobe recently announced their plans to release an online version of Photoshop, their popular image editing application.  It will be a “light version” made using Flex, and is expected in the next six months.
