Delete Blank Lines and More Using Notepad++ TextFX

A couple of weeks ago I covered a great find/replace feature that most users aren't aware is in Notepad++, and today we want to go through my favorite TextFX features that you've probably got installed but haven't played around with. When going through the setup process Notepad++ by default will install some plugins, one of which is labeled as NPPTextFX.

Simplicity at its Finest: Quintessential Media Player

Media players are becoming an increasingly important part of our daily lives. Many of us listen to music while we work, study, or just browse the Internet. IE Tab in Opera?

If you're using Firefox there is a very good chance that you've heard of the IE Tab extension. For many of us it helped ease the burden of switching to Firefox as the primary browser back when developers didn't see Firefox as a viable alternative. That is not nearly as big of a problem as it once was.

CyberNotes: Advanced Photo Effects

One of the reasons Adobe Photoshop has become so popular is because of all the advanced photo affects that can be applied to images. Over the last few years I've seen a lot of free alternatives emerge onto the scene saving users hundreds of dollars, but many of them don't have the effects and control that I'm looking for.

Lyrics Plugin for Winamp & WMP

When I'm listening to music it is nice to have the lyrics available within the media player so that you don't have to venture off onto the Internet to hunt them down. So many of the online services bombard you with advertisements and popups, and it becomes more of a chore to find what you're looking for.

CyberNotes: Photo Seam Carving using Liquid Resize

Seam carving (also known as content aware image resizing) has been the hit lately when it comes to photo editing. It all started with the presentation by Ariel Shamir who put together a nearly breathtaking demo. In it he showed how scaling images could be done without losing or distorting the important aspects of photos.

Twitter, RTM, and Google Calendar with Launchy

Launchy is becoming a well-known application among PC power users. When the latest version launched back in April it included a plugin called Runny which added a whole new aspect to the application. I love that plugin because you can create customized commands for Launchy, such as one for composing an email.
