You've likely seen some interesting stuff floating around the Internet about Windows 8 though, which is because most of the screenshots are from hidden features that people have managed to uncover.

I know many of you are diehard fans of Process Explorer, and I am as well. However, I always try to point out alternatives when they are available, and Process Hacker is exactly that. It's an open source project that consists of over 250,000 lines of code, and the end result is an advanced view of what's running on your system.

Set the Default Priority for a Process

If you use the Windows Task Manager on a regular basis there's a pretty good chance that you've tinkered with an application's priority. This is typically accessed from the "Processes" tab when you right-click on one of the entries, and from there you can assign the particular process a priority that the OS will use to determine which applications/processes should be given special treatment.
