Microsoft has gotten their share of bad publicity lately due to all of the problems with Xbox 360 consoles failing, and the costs associated with those repairs. A recent New York Times article quoted one Xbox owner saying, “You expect somebody’s expensive product to be more durable than that,” when talking about the recent failure of his console.

Sony Drops PS3 Price – Too Little, Too Late?

Late last week there was a lot of chatter going on that Sony was going to be dropping the Playstation 3 price. A Circuit City add for the week of July 15th displaying the PS3 at a decently reduced price gave further indication that it was coming, but Sony never confirmed it, and in fact they denied it.

Sony has made the ultimate decision to discontinue the 20GB version of their Playstation 3 in North America.  While it was the cheaper model, consumers so far have shown that they prefer the 60GB model.

Nintendo’s Wii is King of the Hill for February Sales

February sales numbers are in, and according to NPD, a Market Research Firm, the Wii out-sold any other game console. And so far, they’re right on track to out-ship and out-sell both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 in 2007 as the International Data Corporation originally predicted.

According to DigiTimes, none of the latest game consoles including the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, or PS3 will stand King of the Hill over the market like the PS2 previously did. The PS2 reigned over the market for quite a while, but this time around, it will be shared.
