Microsoft Wisens Up to Windows 7 Cracks?

Over the weekend I decided to download Windows 7 Build 7264, which is the latest build to have been leaked. This was considered to be an RTM escrow build, which meant that this would have been the version that gets shipped given that Microsoft didn't find any show-stopper bugs.

Firefox 3 RC2… We’re almost there!

Win; Mac; Linux Mozilla has released Firefox 3 RC2 today which is right on schedule, and that means we might still be on for a June launch of Firefox 3! It's even possible that this could be the last Release Candidate before Mozilla shoots for their world record.

Flock 2.0 Based on Firefox 3 – Beta Coming Soon

Mozilla is hard at work getting ready for the launch of Firefox 3, and another Release Candidate is scheduled to be available tomorrow. Office 2007 SP2 to Include Save as PDF & ODF Support

Microsoft unexpectedly made an announcement yesterday that Office 2007 Service Pack 2 will include XML Paper Specification (XPS), Portable Document Format (PDF), and Open Document Format (ODF) support once it is released in 2009.

Firefox 3 Nearing Completion

Development on the Firefox 3 browser is finally starting to wrap up. It's been a year and a half since Firefox 2 was released to the public, and by the end of May Firefox 3 will have entered the Release Candidate stages. This is all preparation for what looks to be a June 2008 launch of the long awaited Firefox 3 browser.

So Windows XP SP3 was finally completed on Monday which goes along with the release schedule that we had previously provided. TechNet and MSDN subscribers were furious that they would not be given the download until after it was released to the public, and looked at it as a slap in the face from Microsoft.

Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) Beta Download Coming Soon

Microsoft has started to send out emails to select individuals indicating that Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 is right around the corner. The email is targeted to people whom they would like to receive feedback from before they open the doors to the general public, and no specific date for the IE8 Beta release has been given.

Official Windows XP SP3 Release Date

There has been a lot of buzz around Microsoft's announcement that Vista SP1 has been sent to manufacturing, but it won't actually be available to the public until March 2008. The reason for the delay is that there are some driver compatibility problems for some users, and Microsoft is trying to figure out the best way to isolate the people who will have troubles with the Service Pack.

Public Vista SP1 Release Candidate by Mid-December?

Mary Jo Foley has tapped some of her sources to try and get information regarding Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1), and it appears that she didn't come up empty handed this time around. Her sources said that Vista SP1 RC will be in the hands of testers as early as next week, and that the public will be able to get a taste of it the following week. I'm definitely down with that if it works out that way.

Eset is one of the most respected antivirus development companies, and is definitely one of my favorites. Earlier this year we informed you about the product line for their next generation antivirus solutions, which includes a standalone antivirus application and a security suite complete with firewall. Firefox 3 to Include Separate Vista & XP Themes

Mozilla has started to to post some more information regarding how Firefox 3 will adapt itself to the look of multiple operating systems. One of the big changes that Mike Beltzner, Mozilla's User Experience Leader, mentioned in an article was the two different icon sets that will be created for Windows alone. There will be one for Vista and one for XP.

Mac Office 2008 Download Leaked

Microsoft's Mac Office 2008 won't be released until sometime in January, but those of you who are eager to get your hands on it don't have to wait much longer. File sharing sites have already started to distribute a 465MB download of the Beta version to anyone that wants it, and accompanying the download is a working serial number.
