The famed social bookmarking service Delicious uncovered a new design today that is supposed to be faster, include more powerful searching, and be flat out easier on the eyes. Sound exciting? Well, we first got a glimpse of the new design nearly a year ago, but there were some bumps in the road that kept them from getting it released.

iGoogle Catering to Stalkers, too

I'm guessing that a fair amount of you detest the social networks like MySpace and Facebook. Do they really have a purpose? I don't think that really matters to be honest. There is obviously value in letting one user stalk connect with another, and it has warped into an online phenomenon.

Digsby: A Nice Cross-Network Messenger

I've been meaning to give Digsby a spin ever since the public Beta was released about two weeks ago. It looked like it was a well designed cross-network (and cross-platform) instant messenger, and it offered quite a few features that no other instant messengers have touched on before. And after having used it for only about 30 minutes I think I may have found myself a new messenger.

What is Web 3.0? Google’s Eric Schmidt Tells Us

People have started to ask me "what is Web 3.0?" As with most of you I have no idea what to expect Web 3.0 to be, but if I had to guess it would be Web applications that can be taken offline in an instant. For example, you’re about to leave for a long trip and you want access to your email while you’re on the plane.

Rumors Running Rampant: Yahoo to Acquire MySpace?

Rumors are running rampant that Yahoo is considering acquiring MySpace.  This isn’t just some random rumor either – The New York Times is reporting that News Corp. and Yahoo have discussed the idea. It’s a pretty “loose proposal” as the New York Times says, but the idea has been thrown out there.

MySpace Launches Profile Editor for IE Users

MySpace is all about customization and allowing users to create personalized profiles. However, up until this point, users generally had to turn to outside sources to add that element of customization to their profiles.  There are hundreds of third party sources that offer pre-designed themes and backgrounds for MySpace pages for free.

Facebook and Friendster Introduce Classifieds

It appears that the latest social network trend is classifieds as both Friendster and Facebook are taking this route. Facebook teamed up with Oodle, while Friendster teamed up with OLX. Neither of the services are extremely impressive because in both situations, Oodle and OLX are just gaining access to the massive amounts of people that Facebook and Friendster have in their communities.

Facebook entering Twitter Turf?

No one can argue about Twitter’s recent explosion in popularity that started around March. However, you’ll find plenty of people arguing over whether or not it will last.  Many are saying that this is just a fad, that’ll be over as quick as it started, others are saying this is just the beginning.

Facebook Gets a Makeover after Community Feedback

The last time a major change was made to popular social network Facebook, it didn’t go over so well with the community. Users were outraged by the “feed” system that provides an overall summary of what’s going on with friends. As a result, people protested in major numbers saying that this was the “ultimate stalkers dream.”
