CyberNotes: Best Application Launchers for Windows

Applications are pretty much the core reason that computers are useful, and I've seen people that have literally hundreds of different programs installed. I'm not sure how they make it through each day with the super-sized Start Menu that they normally have, but I'm guessing that they use some sort of efficient application launcher.

Foxit Reader 2.2 – Now the Best PDF Reader

Foxit Reader just got perfect in my opinion. You may think that I'm crazy for thinking that it wasn't perfect before, but one thing that always bothered me was the poor text selection. Before to copy and paste text from a PDF you had to draw a box around the text that you wanted.

CyberNotes: Best Desktop Feed Reader

I've come across a lot of great feed readers before, but I don't believe any of them match up to a new one that I was introduced to by Pieter in the CyberNet Forum. It's called Newzie (Windows-only), and it has a strong focus on making feed reading as easy as possible.

Session Manager for Windows Explorer

I'm going in and out of Windows Explorer all day since I have a bunch of files I'm always trying to manage. One of the nice things in Windows Vista is that you can add favorite folders and locations to the sidebar for fast access, but I don't think anything is as fast as Side-by-Side Explorer.

Desktop Icon Position Save & Restore

Desktop icons seem to have a mind of their own, and when you least expect it they will popup in different positions. This happens all the time when I plug my laptop into a second monitor since the two screens have a different resolutions.

Updating Portable Firefox with a Script

One of the requests that I frequently receive with every Firefox 3 Alpha release is to put together a portable build that people can play with. That way they don’t need to worry about messing up their existing Firefox installation or profile, and when they have had enough with it they can simply delete the folder it resides in.

Taskix: Efficient App to Reorder Taskbar Items

I’ve always been a big fan of the free application called Taskbar Shuffle (our review) because it lets you reorganize the items in your Windows Taskbar. It’s nothing too fancy, but you can rearrange items in your System Tray with the latest version.

New Taskbar Shuffle works with System Tray

The newest version of Taskbar Shuffle not only lets you rearrange items in your Windows Taskbar, but it also works for the System Tray! Moving your Taskbar items around is as simple as click and drag, and if you want to rearrange the icons in your System Tray you’ll need to use a hotkey while dragging (the hotkey is set to Ctrl by default).
