Ever since I signed-up for Twitter, I haven't gotten into using any type of Twitter client to help out with posting updates, but I have heard many people talking about how Twhirl was one of their favorites. Twhirl is actually desktop based and runs on the Adobe AIR platform.

I've been using Twitter more and more these days, and it has surprisingly become a nice way to communicate with friends. That's one of the reasons why Automattic, the founders of WordPress, decided that they should make their own Twitter using WordPress. I mean why not, WordPress already has posting capabilities so it's all about skinning really.

It's been about six months since Pownce first launched into an invite-only beta, and now they've jumped out into the public. It's considered to be a "social networking and micro-blogging" site, and it resembles Twitter quite a bit except with more features.

We know that Google likes to get their hand in just about everything and anything which is why they make so many acquisitions. Google's acquisition choice today is Jaiku, the fairly new service that competes with Twitter.

I’ve been addicted to sidebars ever since I bought my first widescreen monitor. Sidebars have the ability to provide a lot of information inside a very small space, and it wasn’t until recently that I fully started to utilize them.

Launchy is becoming a well-known application among PC power users. When the latest version launched back in April it included a plugin called Runny which added a whole new aspect to the application. I love that plugin because you can create customized commands for Launchy, such as one for composing an email.

I always love the “Best Website” lists because there’s usually a handful of sites that I haven’t heard of, or paid much attention to. Time magazine has put together their list of the 50 Best Websites of 2007. They explain it as their picks of “what’s new and exciting about the Web right now.”

No one can argue about Twitter’s recent explosion in popularity that started around March. However, you’ll find plenty of people arguing over whether or not it will last.  Many are saying that this is just a fad, that’ll be over as quick as it started, others are saying this is just the beginning.

You’re probably already sick of the word Twitter. I know, I’m just about at that point too. It wasn’t long ago that I hadn’t even heard of it, but lately it seems to have exploded in popularity.
