Could this be the new big event of the year? Probably not, but YouTube is extending a virtual red carpet out to a list of people who submitted their videos to YouTube over the course of 2006, and deserve to be recognized. Starting today, you can vote for your favorite videos that you’d like to see win a YouTube Video Award – trophy included.

If you frequent YouTube, at some point you’ll probably go to watch your favorite video only to find that it’s been removed. Videos can be removed for a variety of reasons, like YouTube removing them because of a copyright issue, or even owners removing their clips.

A Turkish Court recently ordered that YouTube be banned because of a video that insulted the founder of modern Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. It was no joke to them, and now YouTube fans in Turkey are going to have to go without their favorite videos.

When Viacom pulled out the carpet underneath YouTube, I’m sure YouTube wasn’t expecting it was because there was someone else coming into the picture. Viacom left, and headed on over to Joost which is just getting their start.

It was just over a week ago that Google was demanded by Viacom to remove 100,00 video clips.

So against our wishes the Colts beat the Bears in the Super Bowl. :( The Bears started out with a big bang by returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown, but after that everything seemed to favor the Colts despite it constantly raining during the entire game.

Viacom who owns brands like BET, MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Spike TV and several others, has demanded that YouTube remove 100,000 videos.  That's over 1.2 billion streams that are to be removed immediately.
