The Register had a chance to interview Opera’s founder and CEO Jon von Tetzchner last week. They discussed some of the challenges facing the company, as well as things they hope to accomplish in the future.

It’s been about a week and a half since we became the proud owners of a Nintendo Wii. There was a lot that factored into the decision of us purchasing a Wii, and before you go thinking that we are Nintendo fanboys I’ll let you know that we own the original Playstation and the original Xbox.

Last week the rumors were flying that Xbox 360 might be receiving a price cut on August 8th, just in time for the upcoming Halo 3 release. That rumor is in fact true with Microsoft officially announcing yesterday that the price drop will start tomorrow (Wednesday, August 8th), and coincides with the release of Madden NFL 08’.

Mods chips are the focal point of recent raids here in the U.S. by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). According to an announcement issued by ICE, over 32 warrants were issued, and homes and businesses were raided in 16 different states.

You'd think that Nintendo would have caught up to the Wii demand by the time the holiday season rolls around in December, but their senior vice president of marketing, George Harrison says that there's no guarantee.  In fact, he says that the consoles will be scarce this holiday season. As you can imagine, Nintendo is doing pretty good for themselves after the huge success of the Wii. There’s no doubt that their future continues to look bright as the Wii is still hard to find, and the demand is definitely going strong.

February sales numbers are in, and according to NPD, a Market Research Firm, the Wii out-sold any other game console. And so far, they’re right on track to out-ship and out-sell both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 in 2007 as the International Data Corporation originally predicted.

Wii fans, get ready to play games online! Nintendo is once again teaming up with GameSpy to bring multiplayer online games to the Wii, something Nintendo has been criticized for previously.

According to DigiTimes, none of the latest game consoles including the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, or PS3 will stand King of the Hill over the market like the PS2 previously did. The PS2 reigned over the market for quite a while, but this time around, it will be shared.

There is no doubt that the Wii causes enough damage as it is from arms being whipped through the air as excitement builds in a game. Heck, there is even a site, Wii Have A Problem, that is dedicated to sharing everyone's stories on how they got injured or what objects they have broken. All of this commotion comes from one little video game system that has motion sensitive controllers.

Last week we asked "When was the last time that you used a floppy disk." Apparently, the floppy disk is becoming a thing of the past! For 53% of you, it's been a thing of the past for at least five years!
