Microsoft just announced the release of Windows Live Hotmail this morning. Word got out last week that today was going to be the big day, and it was indeed. Windows Live Hotmail is now available in 36 different languages on the Hotmail website.

If any of you were beta testers for Windows Live Hotmail, did you get your gift yesterday? I’m not writing this for the sake of it being news, but more for the sake of how cheesy it actually is.

According to BetaNews, Microsoft is preparing to launch their Windows Live Hotmail service in the United States sometime in May.  It has already been launched in India and Belguim, and other countries like France and the UK should expect it in the next few days.

What was originally meant to Hotmail, Microsoft has completed the re-branding for their new mail service(in beta) and now it’s officially Windows Live Hotmail. In February they made the announcement that they were going to bring together the best of both worlds, Windows Live Mail and Hotmail, and create a new name that would satisfy both old loyal users, and new users.

The line of Windows Live services that Microsoft has developed appeared to be catching on.  Just as everybody was getting comfortable with the entire Live line like Windows Live Mail over Hotmail, or Windows Live Shopping over MSN Shopping, Microsoft decides they’re reverting back to old names. A week, ago, Microsoft announced that their mail service will officially be named Windows Live Hotmail which took many people by surprise.

We've been talking about Microsoft's new mail service for what seems like forever now. It was to be faster, simple, and safe. It was also meant to be a service that is to meet the demands of a wide variety of customers. It was meant to Hotmail.
