Windows 7 Release Date in 2009?

TG Daily has gotten there hands on a valuable piece of information ... an early roadmap for Windows 7! Microsoft previously said that general availability of Windows 7 will be in 2010, which may still hold true. Here's the milestone estimates that was outlined in the roadmap:

Windows Fiji isn’t really Vista SP1 after all

News is buzzing that Windows Fiji really isn’t a codename for Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1). Instead, it is the codename for what will become a version of Windows that to be released between Vista and Windows Seven (currently slated for release in 2009).

Windows 7 (a.k.a. Windows Vienna) Feature Insight?

Microsoft just posted the other day that they do not want to give up any details in regard to the next milestone release of Windows. I really don’t blame them for not wanting to disclose any details because that is when they end up pinning themselves in a corner.

Window’s Vienna (Vista’s Successor) Release Date Set for 2009?

Vista's Successor, Windows Vienna is currently planned for release in 2009.  Originally, Windows Vista was planned for release in 2003, and was to be a "stepping-stone" between XP and Vienna.

So we are just weeks away from the Windows Vista consumer launch but the excitement doesn't seem to be nearly what I would expect it to be. Why? Having used Vista for several months I find a lot of great things that make using Windows a more smooth operation.

Goodbye Windows Blackcomb, Hello Vienna!

Yes, that is right, the Windows that is in the far far future could be named Vienna now. The previous name was Blackcomb until Robert Scoble, a 'reporter' for Microsoft, stated that the name is being changed to Vienna. If this is true then I think Microsoft has lost their mind. Names like Whistler, Longhorn, and Blackcomb were all cool, but Vienna? Who are we, Oscar Meyer?
