Come August 8th the Xbox 360 might be seeing a $50 price cut! Both Hollywood Reporter and Xbox Scene are reporting the news, although Xbox Scene wasn’t given the details on the amount of the price drop.

Bill Gates must be seeing $$ signs after Microsoft announced that they had a reported $13.37 BILLION in revenue for the quarter ending on June 30th. And for their fiscal year which just wrapped up, their reported revenue was $51.12 billion, a 15% increase from last year!

Last week, Bloomberg (a news agency) published comments from David Hufford, director of Xbox product management, which lead people to believe that an Xbox 360 price-drop was imminent.  Hufford was quoted as saying “We are all aware that the sweet spot of the market is really $199 bucks.” With that statement, everybody assumed that Microsoft was planning to take the Xbox [...]

What timing. The Halo 3 beta was just launched out to a pool of overly-excited fans, with a chunk of them undoubtedly using a modded Xbox. Unfortunately for them, Microsoft is cracking the whip and denying consoles with modded firmware access to Live.  This means that they aren’t able to play the most anticipated game of the year with others online.

Last week I went around the Internet to different retailers looking for a release date for Halo 3.  I was just curious what dates were out there, and if any of them were the same in hopes of getting some indication when to expect the launch. Out of 8 different stores that I checked, there were four different dates.

Halo 3 is set to be released this Fall, but no official date has been announced yet. I decided to look around to see what the estimated release date was going to be, but to my surprise, nearly every place I went gave a different date.

When The Simpsons Movie launches on July 27th, a few of you may be more interested in an Xbox 360 than the movie. It’s not just any Xbox, it’s a Simpsons themed Xbox 360 Pro, and there’ll only be 100 of them available.

One lucky guy in California managed to get his hands on an Xbox 360 Elite well before the launch date of April 29th. He’s got pictures and a receipt to show this, and he’s now selling it on eBay.

Microsoft made an announcement this morning that the Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta will debut on Xbox Live May 16th and will run through June 6th. This is a big moment for any Halo fan, and here is what Bungie says the Beta will include:

Several days ago, a YouTube video showed what the Xbox 360 Spring update was supposed to look like. At the time, it was unclear whether it was legit or not because Microsoft hadn’t made any official announcements. It turns out it was correct, and come Spring, there will be a lot of improvements.

Microsoft can hardly keep a secret which is why information on a secret black Xbox has been floating around for quite some time. If you’re an Xbox fan then April 29 (in U.S. and Canada) is going to be the date for you to remember. That’s when they will be releasing the coveted Xbox 360 Elite that is complete with a 120GB hard drive, HDMI port, black case, and black controller.

You can start preparing yourself to boogie like a fool with a new game sure to get you moving with your Wii called Boogie. I know there are lots of Wii fans hanging out here who like the active games that keep you moving, whether its sports or any other kind of movement.

There have been previous rumors of black Xbox 360’s that have surfaced, and this time it might actually be true.  The popular gaming magazine, Game Informer is saying that a revamped Xbox 360 is coming soon.
