Yahoo! Mail Adds Ymail and Rocketmail Domains

Did you need another new email address? We didn't think so, but you may be still interested to know that Yahoo has decided to add two new domains to their mail service. Today around 12:00 PM (Pacific), they will introduce Ymail and reintroduce RocketMail as new domains their users can use to register for new email accounts.

Microsoft and Yahoo Part Ways for Good

When Microsoft withdrew their bid to acquire Yahoo back in May, while it may have appeared it was over between the two companies, it really wasn't. Now we can finally say it's over, and Microsoft and Yahoo have parted ways. They realized neither a full or partial acquisition would come from their talks, and so both have walked away.

Peers: Like Inquisitor for Firefox

You might recall that earlier in the month Yahoo! purchased a popular Safari add-on called Inquisitor. With it users could start typing in the browser's search box, and instantly see search results from a menu that popped down. What I was really hoping for was that a Firefox developer would take that idea and run with it.

Extend Browser Capability with BrowserPlus from Yahoo

Last year on May 31st we saw Google push Google Gears out the door, their open source browser extension project. One of their goals with the project was to provide a way for web applications to interact naturally with your desktop. More recently they decided to drop the "Google" part of the name and just go by "Gears" so that people realize that it's for everyone to get involved with.

Zoho Now Accepts Google & Yahoo Logins

Zoho took a pretty big leap today, and it will likely pay off in big ways for them. What they decided to do is leverage Google and Yahoo's rapidly growing user base to help attract new users. How so? Instead of having to create a Zoho account new (and existing) users can simply login using their Google or Yahoo credentials.
