As 2007 comes to an end, sites like Yahoo and Google are releasing their “top of 2007″ types of lists where they note the top trends and searches for the year. As you can imagine, there are a few search queries that landed on both lists like the iPhone, YouTube, and Facebook. All three were certainly “buzz” words for the year and drew huge amounts of attention. Google’s year-end Zeitgeist includes the fast rising searches in the U.S. and globally as well as the fast falling while Yahoo divided top trends in search into categories.
The fastest rising search queries over at Google (U.S.):

- Anna Nicole Smith
Over at Yahoo, the top 10 in Tech include:
- Nintendo Wii
- Sony PlayStation 3
- Guitar Hero
Also interesting is a list of the “Most Memorable New Product Launch” of the year. This includes any type of product launch from foods to gadgets to diet pills. For the first time in two years, a tech product topped the list. Any guesses which one? Yep, you got it, the iPhone. More interesting was that Microsoft Windows Vista came in 2nd place. The only other “tech product on the list was the Motorola Razr2 which came in 9th.

I think it’s safe to say that the iPhone was the most buzzed about product of the year and Steve Jobs has to be pretty happy about that. Now it leaves me wondering what can possibly top the list next year… any predictions?
