hi guys, after using google chrome for a while and then coming back to firefox 3.6, i was annoyed that the autocomplete wasn’t working how I wanted it to. After doing about an hour of research on the net, i found absolutely nothing useful, the lifehacker tweak no longer works and the autocomplete addon isn’t compatible with the latest firefox version.

However, I’ve figured it out!!!!!!!!!!!

basically, what you have to do is, first delete all your browsing data (not your passwords etc, just browsing history etc)…

once you have done that, go to the address bar and type in facebook.com (for example) – NOTE: DO NOT TYPE WWW!!!

then press enter to go that webpage, it should take you to [facebook.com.]
now click on ur address bar again and start typing facebook, on the dropdown, two suggestions should appear:
1) [facebook.com]
2) facebook.com

click on the second option, it will take you to [facebook.com] again

now however, when you go to the address bar and start typing facebook, it should autcomplete

it has worked for me and I have done the same for all my favourite web addresses

i don’t really use all features of the awesome bar, but i found autocomplete manager pretty helpful.. Thanks

This one seems to be updated fairly well, so it should be a good bet.
