Now that Picasa web albums has been out for a while I think it’s safe to say that it doesn’t come close to matching Flickr in any way. Picasa web albums seem bland and don’t bring anything new to online photo sharing.

I am actually surprised that Google hasn’t released an API for Picasa. Maybe the web albums will push Google to make the API so that everyone can enjoy the fruits of their labor .

I want a Picasa API! I need to be able to rename on import and have multi-tiered directories!
