Nice to hear how it’s going with you Ryan and Ashley, I sometimes wondered how things were going over there.

I live in Gent, Belgium. I work part-time in a non-profit organization that promotes independent information about medicines. I do the bookkeeping, make sure our personnel’s wages are being paid etc.

For the rest of the day I take care of our household and 4 children, and spend quite some time on the computer

It’s very interesting to hear what paths our readers are taking in their lives! As Ashley said I am a “deployment specialist” that focuses on launching and maintaining websites. Most (almost all) of our clients are law firms, which makes the job even more interesting.

I originally applied for a programming job at the company I now work for, but after looking at some of my background they thought that I’d be a better fit for this position. It’s nice because I have a chance to interact with people throughout the day rather than being confined to a cubicle debugging code. I’m definitely glad I got the position I did over the programming job.

I am a Maintenance Engineer at America’s Beverage Company in Irving, TX., which is one of The Kroger Co’s manufacturing plants. So basically I work for Kroger (Food Store Chain). At America’s Beverage we manufacture and can/bottle Big-K carbonated beverages and Kroger water in 500ml bottles.

As the Maintenance Engineer, I am responsible for the following:
1. Root Cause Analysis for Equipment Failures.
2. Project Management for New Equipment Acquisition and Integration.
3. Create and Maintain the Preventative and Predictive Maintenance Program for all equipment.
4. Coordinate the Training Program for all Maintenance Technicians.
5. Manage the Repair Parts Storeroom to ensure optimization of repair part inventory.
6. Manage and Oversee the Planning and Scheduling of all Maintenance Work Orders.
7. Process Improvement Management for the Maintenance and Engineering Department. Basically come up with, implement and manage improvements for all processes in the department.

8. Backup Information Systems Technologist.

I have nothing to do with IT or Computer guys or it may seem … but i work all day along with computers … and since i am tired of it … i am trying to fly higher …

Right now i am a CAD Technical Designer / Graphics Designer … but since i have formation in Civil Engineering … i am focused right now in getting work abroad my country, anywhere in the world that seems appealing. If there’s anyone out there needing one … here’s the tip …

I already tried to fire myself on a friendly basis but didn’t made it … i think in January i’ll embrace a new mission, once i am really with other things in mind.

Anyway best lucks for you all, and with less or more posts, the quality is awesome so i’ll be here … unless i grab a place with no internet connection … like … Sahara Desert

Hi this is Daniel. I am a Tech Project Lead at Capitalone at Richmond va. The last few months have been hectic specially at banks as soon as the end of the financial year comes closer.
I love technology but somehow I don’t like to get work done by others (suject matter experts) As a lead I work with all the engineers who works at datacenter Windows Unix etc But for me I still miss working on technology on my own. Its easier to work on computers than to make engineers work on them. My miss the cybernet updates but I still visit the site often hopeing an updated article will be posted. I am really happy that you have found what you like and want to do in life. I suppose its the most imp to do what one really likes. All the best cheers. danny.

What a pleasent surprise to note that you have landed the same job that i do, although the responsibilities are slightly different.

This is Alok from India. I am a regular visitor to cybernet and love your articles. I live in a suburb of the New delhi and have finished my Masters in Computer Application and teach undergraduate students in a university.
