Yep, XDrive still needs a lot of work...I am personally a fan of Mozy and have not had a problem with that.

I wouldn't recommend XDrive to anyone.

Same here, the "third time" was not the charm. I have a bunch of stuff I was able to get on at one point, but I wanted to add more files and have had nothing but problems. My automatic back-ups don't work either says there was a problem, but doesn't elaborate as to what the problem was. Windows Exploder will just stop communicating with XDrive or freeze up when I try to access the drive. Good product ideas, but needs lots of work.

is Google really gonna offer UNLIMITED storage? that's kind of suspicious .. I wonder where they get the money for this.. i'm using something called Data Deposit Box for my online storage right now.. it's not just a storage thing but it actually automatically backs up all your files while on your computer. great for times your file becomes corrupted 'cause you can just go online and download an older version of ur file. check it out! 8)

[...] AOL users will be able to get 5 gigs of storage space from XDrive, which AOL owns, in September. New Users who have their own broadband connection can sign up for the New AOL and also get this storage. This could be good for AOL users. AOL seems to be beating both Google and Microsoft in releasing the free storage. However, one word of caution, ”AOL released a list of 20 million search queries yesterday that was made up from 500,000 users. You didn’t need special permission to download the file but you had to be willing to wait for the 439MB to finish downloading. In the end it didn’t take long for them to remove it from their servers but by that time it was already a little too late… The biggest reason why this was stupid, in my opinion, is that no one will trust them anymore.” This was part of an article published on CyberNet News’ web site. For more information on this article, click here. For more information on AOL’s free storage, click here.
It is kind of funny that you say that because there are probably a lot of people that have horror stories from AOL. Especially when you think back to the days when everyone seemed to use them for dial-up service!

Even if AOL tries to give the whole world to me for free, I will not take it. It has set such an impression. I have had problems with Customer Service agents as well as with removing the stupid software from my computer.
