Windows Vista System Requirements Released

Microsoft has finally released the system requirements that will be needed to run Windows Vista. I am actually surprised at how low the system requirements are, but I guess there are different “modes” that you can run Vista in so that it isn’t so memory and graphics intensive. Here are the requirements:

Minimum Requirements (Vista-Ready PCs):

  • 800Mhz Processor
  • 512 MB of RAM
  • DirectX 9-Capable Graphics Processor

Recommended Requirements (Premium-Ready PCs):

  • 1 Ghz Processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 128 MB Graphics Memory (along with many other graphic requirements)

Microsoft released these requirements just in time for WinHEC which starts May 22. Attendees of WinHEC will also get a “current” copy of Windows Vista. The build they receive will probably be 5384 unless there are some changes that Microsoft hurries to throw into Vista before they manufacture the DVD’s.
