WordPress Releases Source Code for iPhone App
Apple has still hasn’t lifted the NDA that developers were bound to before the launch of the App Store, but that hasn’t stopped the WordPress team from releasing the source code for their recently launched app. They also say that things like a landscape mode, comment moderation, and more are all on the way. XM & Sirius Merger Almost Complete
According to the Wall Street Journal there is just one more FCC commissioner that has yet to cast a vote on the XM & Sirius merger. The deal they’ve apparently worked out will force the companies to pay upwards of $20 million in fines. [related]
jkOnTheRun Acquired by Giga Omni
The mobile tech blog jkOnTheRun became part of the Giga Om network this week, and I can’t think of another blog that deserves it more. James and Kevin over at jkOnTheRun have quickly become one of my favorite sources for mobile tech news. Congrats guys!
iPhone 3G Coming in Red?
Now that the iPhone has moved away from an aluminum backing there’s a good chance that we might be seeing even more colors being made available. According to one source a red iPhone is planned for the holiday season this year.
Calgoo Goes Free
Calgoo has made their Calendar and Connect applications completely free, and neither has advertising. They plan to deliver ads to some of their products including Calgoo Hub, but both Calendar and Connect will remain ad-free.
Apple’s MobileMe Still Disappoints Many
Apple has been having all kinds of problems with MobileMe, and bad reviews are coming in one after another. Walt Mossberg, who is normally very fond of Apple’s products, didn’t hold back his feelings about MobileMe. [related]
Panasonic’s Digital Wall to Compete with the Surface
Panasonic is currently working on a digital wall that might be able to compete with Microsoft’s Surface. The real question is whether Panasonic will be able to come up with a software platform as robust as the one Microsoft has already developed.
Microsoft Fights Back with Vista Ad Campaign
Microsoft has started an ad campaign to help attract the users who hate Vista without ever having tried it. The ad pictured in the article says “at one point, everyone thought the Earth was flat.” They are obviously pushing the message that you shouldn’t believe everything that you hear.
