I would agree that $50 is a reasonable price for the upgrade. Luckily they extended the upgrade back to both XP and Vista users... I can't remember if they typically allow upgrade pricing for two generations back of Windows? I think Vista you had to be upgrading from XP?

I preordered Windows 7 Home Premium (upgrade version) for...... $50. So they're offering a whopping $10 off? $3.33 per license??? Wow. I can hardly contain myself. Considering most people don't even upgrade OSs, I guess it doesn't even matter.

I was one of those "XP4EVERRRRRR" guys - until I realized I wanted 6GB of RAM. Hmm. So while W7 Beta didn't agree very much with me, W7RC has, and I've been running it for months now. It's not perfect, but there's no huge fatal flaws that stand out. I think $50 is a pretty decent price for an upgrade, considering I paid $100 for XP about a year ago. One of the nice things is the TV Tuner/DVR software is pretty good - good enough that I don't need to blow $50-100 on different software.

I think vista is pretty effective. Although I can see how difficult it would be for a newbie. However, my friend (Mac-guy) told me his Mac crashed. Whoops. Must be the parallels!

Not a big fan of windows... since xp ive kinda been turned off, i tried vista right when it came out and hated it, buggy and full of errors. Maybe its better now and more affordable. But until then its xp and linux for me.

Unless they drastically change the harddrive, there wont be a 1.2 petabyte drive in 2 years. Probably not even 5 years. My guess is they will make one, but it wont be 3.5" or it will be slow as hell. They'll probably take a loss on every drive at that price too.

It just makes me laugh.
