Google Applies for More than 50 New TLDs Including .LOL
Google has apparently applied for over 50 top-level domains (TLDs) such as “.google”, “.docs”, “.youtube”, and even “.lol”. Each application costs $185k so they are putting quite a bit of money into getting them.
Windows 8 Release Preview
Microsoft made the Windows 8 Release Preview available for public download last week, and it serves as a near-final version of Windows 8 which should be out in the next few months.

New Samsung Chromebook & Chromebox Reviews
The Verge has a lengthy review up for the new Chrome OS-powered machines made by Samsung. While they sound enticing the price point is a little higher than what I’d expect. They start at $449 for the Chromebook laptop, and $329 for the Chromebox desktop.
