Yahoo Offers Instant Search — Search Results As You Type
Yahoo is one of the leading search engines and to compete with their rivals they now offer an ‘Instant’ Search. It is interesting to try but is nothing you would want to use as your main search engine. It will only show one result as you are typing in your search which doesn’t make it very useful. If we are comparing the search-as-you-type features of Google and Yahoo, I think Google comes out on top with the Google Suggest. Google Suggest will show you a listing of some of the most popular searches as you are typing in text.
Yahoo definitely has a clever idea but I don’t think that they will be able to capitalize on it. I think it will be awhile before it would get incorporated into the Yahoo Search Homepage much like how Google Suggest is yet to make it to the Google Search Homepage.
